  1. Is anyone else getting a ‘things are not quite what they seem’ vibe from Lucia?? I don’t care how non-grieving of a ‘widow’ she may be… nobody behaves as elegant & self-assured as she in the last moments of a life taken unwillingly. Perhaps the most sexy near-murder ever! (contrast Swann’s resistance/panic/desperation at her attempted kidnap) Lucia is playing Bond, that’s the only way it makes sense, no?

I wonder if she is from a ‘naval family’ perhaps…

    1. I don’t think it’s any of that so much as I think it’s bad acting and poor filmmaking. I do love the short of her walking in the guys being there, though. But otherwise, that sequence was a bust for me.

  2. Monica is just perfect for the role she was chosen for in Spectre – classic beauty who can pull off the elegant, trapped Mafia wife as a character that Bond uses to get mission intel – just like Caterina Murino as Solange in CR. Not sure how Monica (or Caterina) would fare as the main Bond Girl – unlikely to return so maybe an opportunity lost for the franchise.

  3. i liked her a lot and was sad to see her exit the picture as quickly as she entered it. There was potential for a couple more really great scenes, maybe even a shocking death or something along those lines. Still, what we got was pretty good.

  4. she was unfortunately completely wasted. She is such a great and beautifull actor. They could have given her so much more screantime. Of course she may return someday but I don’t think she will ever appear again in a bond film.

  5. On your ring discussion around 18:00, maybe Monica’s DNA isn’t on the ring because Sciarra & the others only wore the ring at certain times when they need to be identified by a specific Spectre contact. It’s kept hidden, too valuable to wear during unofficial non-Spectre sponsored parties. That would also explain why you wouldn’t see the others in the previous films wearing it. They rarely wear it because they don’t want it to be noticed. Maybe there’s a homing device on it so they can retrieve it when the wearer dies, it doesn’t even have to be near them. If Blo’s DNA is on it, maybe he was once one of Spectre’s agents & then gave it up when he became head. That would be interesting, to see his past as a Spagent taking orders from & maybe scheming against his predecessor.
