It’s time for us to look at the evil doers, the nasty men, the antagonists and baddies from the world of Bond. In today’s episode (part 1 of 2), we look at everyone from Dr. No to Hugo Drax. We sort the good villains from the bad villains and organise them into our patented 3 tier system.
In addition, we hear what could possibly be the most adorable rendition of Goldfinger ever from the daughter of JBR listener Darren Noble. We discuss the news of Roger Moore’s return to the role of 007 in the upcoming Comic Relief sketch and plenty more.
Don’t miss out on the latest episode of James Bond Radio, it’s gonna be a good one!

Ian Ogilvy – ” You still believe in Simon Templer?”’
Roger Moore – ” The world needs a Saint.”
Craig will do 2 more after SPECTRE for sure
Man with the Golden Gun is my Guilty Pleasure. I know it’s not great but I love to watch this movie. It was the first Bond movie I viewed at the theatres…maybe that’s why, I don’t know.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s father is Rocky Johnson [Also a Wrestler] who was born in Amherst Nova Scotia about 196.0 km from where I live. His Grandfather Peter Maivia [A Wrestler as well] had some sofa play with Bond.
Rosa Klebb No. 3, first appears in Blofeld’s office with No. 5 Kronstien after the chess match. She’s forced to listen to Blofeld’s verbal dissertation on Siamese fighting fish while they waited for No. 5.
” James Bond…allow me to introduce my self, my name is Ernst Stavro Blofeld. They told me you were assassinated in Hong Kong.”
”Yes…this is my second life.”
”You only live twice Mr. Bond.”
That’s what I like to see Mr. Cranidge…live commenting while you listen to the episode 🙂
the change’s of blofeld over the year’s, were interesting. which the bond producer’s
never really had an idea how the character from the novel’s should look like
on screen. but like what tom said the build-up of him during the early bond films
was good. the Donald pleasance first image of blofeld is truly iconic, also telly
savales. which in my opinion these two actor’s version is the definitive image
of Ernst stavro blofeld. sorry I feel that sir Charles gray’s version was a parody
of the villain. from ‘diamond’s are forever’
I agree and feel that Diamonds starts off full of promise, Wint and Kidd are truly menacing characters. The plot whilst fantastical is interesting but as soon as Blofeld appears the film descends into a somewhat farcical romp. I agree with the comment made by Tom that it would have been extremely interesting to see what George would have done in the role. I suspect that he would have been excellent and that when you saw Bond hunting for Blofeld he really meant it and it would be packed with barely hidden rage. Sadly a missed opportunity of biblical proportions. They should have fought to keep Lazenby rather than chase Connery as this film devalues every so slightly Connery’s catalogue of Bond films.
I must say that I hope this becomes a once per week podcast, because I have finally caught up to the latest episode in the last few weeks and have been forced to start listening to them over again.
Rosa Klebb makes her first appearance in FRWL very early in the film with Kronsteen on Blofeld’s yacht in the bay of Venice. I believe it was immediately after the chess scene that opens the film proper.
Just listening to villains of Bond part 1 and I think you might have missed the point of Blofeld’s plan. He was really a highly paid gun for hire also his paymasters give him the gun. His actions were to ferment a war between USA and Russia on behalf of the Red Chinese, then China will take over the orl.
